Saving Lives:  A Job That's Here to Stay
September 11, 2001, showed us that we can all become heroes on the spot.  All it takes is a desire to help.  When you volunteer with a rescue squad or fire department in Henry County or Martinsville, you will strengthen homeland security, and you may even save a life!  Follow the links on the page to learn more..

No Experience Necesary
The basic training for rescue squad and fire department volunteers is free.  Henry County's state-of-the-art training facility is a leader in the region, and you can't beat our on-site training by seasoned volunteers.  When you join our ranks, you'll be joining on the best departments in Southwest Virginia.

Give Back To Your Community
If you're a parent, your volunteer work can start a family tradition of giving back to the community.  If you're a student, volunteering proves that you can make a commitment and be a team player doing important work.  This will impress your future employer in any job.  We have many opportunities. Strong communities give their citizens a helping hand when it's needed, and those who volunteer for this important work earn everyone's respect and admiration.  Sign up today and be part of this important work.
